Welcome to Bridge Farm Cottages

Bridge Farm Holiday Cottages, Brigham, Driffield, Yorkshire

Ladies, as explained to Christine last night this is just a rough draft of the site...so please don't think you have to rush into publishing it as it is!  There is still lots to do behind the scenes as well as what you see, and how soon we get there will depend on both me and you!

At this stage all I need to know is what you do and don't like.  The site will not pull together visually until all the elements you want are in it.  Please remember nothing is set in stone and can be changed!

Whilst helpful to have the main feedback before I alter any design elements, please be aware that we can try things until they feel right for you.

I am still experimenting with fonts/colours/sizes and layouts, so you will see various alternatives used across the site - please advise your likes/dislikes.  e.g. The handwriting fonts you will either like or hate!

I have tried to be slightly different to the Bewerley Hall Farm site, but let me know if there are things you like that you would like to keep similar/the same (Ie.g. the header style).

Every font has a different feel/style which sends a different message, so it would help to know whether you prefer a traditional style or something simple and modern like this one.  For example, I tried alternative logo fonts, then went back to the above, as it seems to work - let me know what you think.

If you would like a solid colour across the top (header) similar to Bewerley Hall (like the below footer), please let me know.

Please let me know also what you think of the pastel green colour and if you would prefer lighter/darker etc.  Also what you would like as a contrast colour, (to highlight things/titles)  e.g. pink/red/blue or this beige etc.

I can change/remove any images if you want them somewhere else, depending on what you would like to emphasise.

Re written content, please be aware that I have not tackled any of this yet, as I was focusing on visual design and  creating main pages based on images from the internet - words require a different mood.

I will find a better font for the quotes that is clearer to read (previous was but not suitable).

I have not yet reviewed and included things you want to emphasise, such as babies and toddlers, collecting fresh eggs etc (as discussed with Christine).

(I noticed people complaining about slow wifi, so I think worth mentioning this may not be the same as people are used to (I will word something to keep expectations in check and hopefully stop people complaining about it on reviews!).)

I am still considering best way to present Things to Do page.

Energy not as high as it was last night as only 3 hours sleep since Becky and I spoke (before this unexpected whirlwind start to the site...) So you may be relieved to know the pace will probably slow to something a bit more normal now!

=====

Set alongside the canal banks nestles the tiny hamlet of Brigham in the Yorkshire Wolds.

The former farm buildings date back to the 1700s and have been lovingly converted, retaining many of the original features. This has provided four wonderful luxurious farmhouse style holiday homes which can accommodate 22 people.

All the cottages now have Wi Fi Internet [although our rural connection means speed varies  according to local conditions}

All of our properties feature cosy underfloor heating as well as welcoming wood-burning stoves - ideal for those cooler evenings. Especially suitable for families with young children, as children and adults alike can enjoy farm life, gathering eggs for breakfast and feeding the friendly sheep, horse, goats, rabbits and guinea pigs on the children’s farm.

For a different family day out, bikes are available (please bring your own helmets) to explore the stunning countryside on quiet, picturesque lanes. For older children there is shared use of a games room with a full-size snooker table, table football, pool and table tennis. For the younger ones, a large sand pit, pedal tractors, trailers and diggers as well as a two-storey wendy house with dolls and prams which offer hours of fun. Guests are also welcome to use our well-stocked coarse fishing pond (please bring your own tackle)

We are also within easy reach of the coastal resorts of Scarborough and Bridlington.

Read more about our cottages and things to do in the area. Please feel welcome to check out our guest book.

We have gone out of our way to make your holiday truly memorable, whether it's for a long weekend or a longer period. If we can assist you in any way, please do not hesitate to contact us.
